Joseph M. McManus’ practice includes taxation of corporations, partnerships, individuals, estates and gifts, and exempt organizations. He advises individuals, fiduciaries, directors, officers and private foundations regarding tax, governance and related legal matters.
Mr. McManus has much experience in tax controversy work. As an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, Mr. McManus represented the Commissioner of Internal Revenue
before virtually all the U.S. Courts of Appeals from 1971 to 1976. Thereafter he has
represented many corporations and individuals in courts and administrative proceedings involving federal and state taxation. Mr. McManus also advises individuals regarding
business and estate planning. Mr. McManus was an adjunct professor at the Catholic
University Law School teaching Business Planning from 1979 – 1991. Mr. McManus
presently serves as Counsel to the George and Carol Olmsted Foundation. |
